"If we truly love people, we
will desire for them far more than it is within our power to give them,
and this will lead us to prayer.
Intercession is a way of loving others."

If by prayer we can influence the conduct of
others, does such power encroach on free will? Will God temper one person’s freedom to
answer another person’s prayer? It
seems difficult to imagine. And
yet, if prayers cannot influence the course of events, why pray?
