Primary Health
Care Coordinator (Funded Position):
The
PHC Coordinator is a key technical person that will support PHC
programming across Merlin’s Maryland projects. The PHC Coordinator will be responsible
for a PHC project that will provide capacity building, technical program
development, supervision of relevant health personnel, and monitoring and
reporting for primary health services.
See the full responsibilities and requirements here.
The following positions are volunteer
positions but, depending on qualifications and commitment, we may be able
to source support for them. Let all apply and we will see how we can work
out support together!
Nutritionist: Equip
programs involving Nutrition is our "Come Eat at my Table
Program" where our Christian Health Ambassadors
(CHA) identify malnourished children in their communities and try
to counsel the parents to discover the root cause and provide nutrition
information to improve the child's condition. This program needs overall
monitoring and supervision along with TOT training of Regional
Supervisors and CHAs. These trainings would
include Nutrition, (including identification, growth monitoring and
follow-up), parenting, God's view of children and prayer.
Health
Personnel:
All our health related programs could use compassionate, knowledgeable
people on the field, willing to sleep in the communities, monitor the CHA
training, ensuring the Gospel message is being sent out in a Spirit
filled manner. Computer and organizational skills are necessary to assist
nationals to document, collect data, analyze and write reports to donors.
We would also love to have documented transformational stories
accompanied with pictures for our websites and newsletters. (Ideal RN,
PA) Doctors welcome!
In addition: we need Doctor, PA or
Nurses to help with the training, monitoring and supervision of our 8
clinics in Nimba and 6 clinics in Sinoe. Clinics in Liberia have underqualified
staff, are severely limited in their ability to follow instruction,
collect data and write accurate reports. Mother and Child Programs,
Vaccination Programs are poorly implemented due to the lack of will and
capacity on the field. Someone in leadership needs to take hold of this
program to build the capacity of National Staff. We also cannot
underestimate the spiritual dynamic to the work ethic here in Liberia.
Placing spiritual as well as practical emphasis in trainings will also
enhance the program.
Protection
Officer: A
volunteer and potentially paid position for an individual that has
experience in either law or social work and is willing to take leadership
in our "Access to Justice" program which involves assisting
victims and their families to seek justice for criminal acts such as
murder, rape, vicious assault, abduction, and "trial by ordeal"
(witch hunts). This involves case follow-up at all levels, documentation
and report writing.
Administration

A volunteer position with potential for some stipend to assist Equip in
fundraising, writing proposals, writing reports, web site updates, photo
/ video monitoring and evaluation of work etc.
Construction
Supervisor: Funding is in the pipeline for the construction of
2 clinics and 6 small training centers. We need someone to assist in:
Procurement of building supplies, logistics, Monitoring and Supervision
at the various worksites and perhaps bring teams over to assist in the
building projects.
