In response to the incredible amount of compliments that Dave
Bearchell and Rodney Edwards have to receive on behalf of Chuck Clark from
50% of the entire population of Liberia and due to the fact that we’re the
ones over here suffering through air conditioned rooms, three great meals
per days and associating with some of the nicest people on earth while
Chuck gets to stay behind in 20 degree weather and working every day, be it
known that January 4th of each year shall hereafter be known as
Anti-Chuck Clark Day in Liberia. (This
is unofficial however since the government official we contacted thought
Chuck was “wonderful” as well.)
I mean it, we’re tired of this.
Dave and Lindi Bearchell drove as far north in Liberia as you can
go, entered a woman’s home, were treated cordially until she went outside
and saw Service To Servants written on the side of their car. “Do you know Chuck Clark,” she
asked? “He’s wonderful.”
Dave’s ear gets stopped up so I take him to Dr. Rick Sacra who,
right in the middle of a difficult procedure, looks down at Dave and says, “this
ministry that Chuck has is really great.”
John Henry of the Free Methodist Church says to let him know if
anyone complains and he will, “speak to them.”
Rusty and Jamie Laird still talk about “how nice” Chuck is.
Kristin and Keith Chapman mention that most of what’s in their
dental clinic is due to Chuck’s great work.
Dave and Babs of the Rifiki Village say that the place couldn’t
operate without Chuck. While Julie
is confident that Chuck will “do his normal, wonderful job and get her
piano here right on time.”
Finally, having heard all we could stomach, we pulled every string
possible and made contact with President Sirleaf herself. See her response below.
Seriously, we have been the recipient of more complements and words
of thanks thank you can possibly imagine for the shipping ministry portion
of STS. It would be unfair not to
give Chuck and his two key employees, Jeff and Ed, the credit that they
deserve for sacrificing time and money from his business to make this
service possible. It couldn’t be
done without them.
