Two Letters Explaining the Conference
Schedule
Dear Bro. Edwards,
Greetings and good day to you, the family, and the team at STS.
Thanks for the email and connecting Rev. Tornonlah
with us.
Please be informed that since your email, Rev. Tornonlah
and I had had four different telephone conversations concerning their
request. Many issues have already been discussed. Others are still
on-going.
In fact, I am scheduled to pay a few hours visit to Harbel,
Firestone on Thursday, February 15. We will use this visit to explore
everything pertaining to the planned pastor conference. In the last
conversation with him, he even suggested that we could now have the first
session on Friday and the second on Saturday. The training will begin in
the afternoon hour--2:P.M. to 7:30 P.M. each day, Friday and Saturday, to
make up for time allotted to each session in the syllabus.
You see, in concession area like Firestone, some 98% of the pastors/church
leaders are also workers with the company. Their job with the company
provides for 95% of their livelihood-constant salary, education opportunity
for their children, housing, food (rice), and medical allowance, etc. Whatever
their congregation provides is very insignificant. As such, they are always
available for training and meeting only after they have retired from the
daily routine with the company. Even Sunday services are held in the
afternoon time at most places within the plantations. This is our
experience with doing training for pastors/church leaders in such areas.
Rev. Tornonlah is very aware of this dynamics.
I have already informed Rev. Tornonlah that
I will be taking along with me some registration forms and conference tags
left over from the November conference in Monrovia. They could be used with change
in date and venue information, using correction fluid. He has consented to
this suggestion.
Our stock indicates that 85 copies of the Pastor Training Seminar books and
344 copies of the Syllabus books are still available. He is projecting between 50 to 60 participants. However, we have 85
copies and can serve 85 participants eventually.
What do you think about using the usual PowerPoint presentation we had in Monrovia in November?
What will that require? Will you bring your laptop computer and video
projector? We will also need public address system. Please let us know just
how we will handle this aspect. And when you finally arrive, we will
discusse other issues. During my visit to Harbel,
Firestone, we will consider everything possible from their end. And as soon
as I return from Harbel, I will get to you and my
Board Chairman.
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
Best regards.
Yours in Christ's service,

Conference Schedule
Dear Rodney,
How glad were we when we saw the email
from you dated on February 5, 2007. May God richly bless all of your undertakings.
Knowing fully well that Firestone is a
plantation area; all of the workers do go to work in the morning. Instead
of the one straight day of training, we have decided to make the training
for two days beginning from 2:00 P.M.to 6:00 P.M.
daily. The two days are Friday, February 23rd and Saturday,
February 24th, 2007 respectively in the City of Harbel,
Firestone.
If the schedule suits you, we will be
highly glad to await you and your team’s arrival.
Once more, may God richly bless all of
your initiatives.
