Meeting Notes

July 17, 2006

Prior to the meeting:

DB – Opened in prayer.

RE – The text of the Case document is complete. Gayla is putting it into final form and then we will get it printed and also placed into an electronic format for distribution.

RE – Database underway. I spoke with Ron Kaye and he is setting up our environment on his company’s server. I also gave him a starting database. Hopefully this will be available by the end of this week. User names and passwords have been distributed to everyone.

DB – Will own the database and get it into shape to begin managing our contacts. DB’s mother-in-law (Trudi) will be with them next week and will assist with entering contacts.

RE – I made contact with Lincoln Brownell (Liberia Baptist Theological Seminary), Olu Menjay (Rick’s Institute) and Richard Wesley (Greater Love Bible Baptist Church) and each was enthusiastic about the conference and each agreed to serve on the pastor’s committee. I emailed but did not hear back from Albert Stewart (United Pentecostal Church of Liberia). It might be that I have a bad email address. Carl Hadley had some additional addresses and has emailed each of them to see if we can make contact.

RM – Donald Castell (Indianapolis) will help us with the government. He has already contacted a cabinet minister in the Liberian government about the event. Richard has had a phone conference with Donald to discuss this. Rick Sacra – SIM in Liberia was emailed but there has been no reply yet. Rev. Kulah, another contact made, has not responded but email address may be wrong. Feels very good about these people participating.

DB – His dad (Salvation Army) is retired but really not. He will help DB connect with the senior officer of the Salvation Army that just returned from Liberia after 20 years. Southern Baptist, Bob Rucker? is being contacted. Also the former IMB development guy has just gone to the Chick Filet Foundation and we are to meet with him perhaps on the same day we meet with Lincoln Brownell in Atlanta. Norwood Davis is on vacation but will be back next week and will provide business contacts from his recent visit to Liberia on a micro-finance mission.

RM – Will contact Rev. Ruppuh, pastor in Liberia who can operate as the point man in his organization.

RE – Venue. Both RM and Lincoln Brownell have recommended Providence Baptist Church which seats around 1,500 people. I have asked Lincoln to make contact for us to secure its use if possible.

DB – ME is following up on the printing material while he is in India. He’s owns this for now.

RE – We will need funding for the printing of materials. Money is available to cover it but we need to involve others who would be more than willing to fund this event.

DB – A long term development plan needs to be initiated. David will own this.

RM – We must begin sharing the STS message to those we have influence over. This can bring some help in the short term while we work on a long term plan.

RE – Closed in prayer.
