Richard’s family as his aunt passed away in RM – Spent time with his aunt’s family
this week consoling their loss. DB – A good contact was made with Equip
Ministry. The first was with a man who
was providing leadership training in Cairo (?). Servant Leadership is the common thread
through all of Equip’s teaching. This
contact will look into the possibility of taking this training to RE – Based upon last week’s conversation
we have some initial steps that need to be taken: 1) Summary document
explaining the Crown Teaching emphasis, 2) Funding for the event of
approximately $20,000 and 3) Initial leadership contacts within ME – The initial step is to gain “buy in”
from the leadership within the church.
Bring approximately 20 key leaders together for a 2 hour meeting. First hour is to present the main points of
the teaching and the second hour is to establish commitment, develop core
team members and, if possible, elect a chairman. We are looking for their buy in with the
understanding that this means their time. RM – Will the group know each other well
enough to pick a leader at the first meeting? ME – Usually this works but it there’s no
clear consensus then defer the selection until later. RM – Would it work to have a leader
selected ahead of time? RM – How far along is the summary
document and do you (RE) need help with it? RE – I have pulled out the appropriate
items from the Crown planning document that Matt referred us to last week
(same one I emailed to everyone). Help
would be very much appreciated.
Perhaps we can start with an outline of the primary information we
want to communicate (the who, what, when, where type stuff). Then we can share our thoughts and build
the document. Let’s make this our
focus of effort for this week. DB – As God brings people to us let’s
keep our eyes open for the people (maybe 8 – 10) who will “own” this effort
in prayer. RM – Remember the “it” factor. We have a passion but need to be able to
communicate it effectively to others. RE – Final comments? DB – We need to start accumulating our
database of people that God is bringing into our view. Soon we will need to create a shared
database so that we can all work off of a single list. We need to be good stewards of those that
God sends our way. ME – Leaving Friday for almost everywhere
in the world (RE’s description) for Crown work. Will return May 29th. Can receive email during this time but will
not be able to attend next three weeks’ meetings. RM – Continue to focus. We need to work on the document. RE to send out what he has to everyone. RE – Thanks to everyone for your
work. God is directing this so we know
it’s right. Our job is to be obedient. |
